Three of Cups
The mind is the heart of the ego, the intelligence that sits at the control panel, the aspect of the self that brings animation to the flesh. The mind isn’t a single organism, but a complex blend of qualities and personalities that we falsely describe as the singular. The place we believe we reside, but from an esoteric perspective, we are in truth a mixture of traits that we crudely define as our identity. The part that brings criticism and judgement to others, finds joy and hope in life, the one who can fall into the dark caves of depression, yet experiences the ecstasy of lust and charm of love, carries the pain of grief, witnesses suffering, yet rejoices in the joys of splendour.
Today’s card is the Three of Cups, a card that unites the three holy chalices as one, engraved with the word’s faith, hope and charity. These are the names given to the sacred numbers that form the magical number three, a blend and state of the mind, body and spirit.
You’re not one person, but like the mystical fractal, you’re a complex tapestry disguised as the one. When you hurt, your neighbour experiences pain too. When a child goes hungry, a part of your soul reaches out for sustenance also. Your colleagues are like bees in a hive; the queen bee is your mind. If the worker bees suffer, then the queen will hurt too, if they die, then the whole colony will perish.
You’re called to meditate upon this powerful symbiotic relationship and celebrate the whole, not the self, for your completion and evolution can only be gained in the union with others, for this is the mystery and secret of the three, and the glue that binds these sacred vessels together, is love.
