Sadly, the Tower Card has gained quite a formidable reputation. No wonder, just look at the image, you’d hardly say it’s a scene of happiness. But there are, as with every card within the tarot many facets and dimensions, despite its apocalyptic appearance.
You’ve probably heard the word paradigm. For those who haven’t, a paradigm is a collection of beliefs how we think the world works. Not necessarily a set of correct beliefs, but our own theories and understandings. In many ways these beliefs are like small programs running in our subconscious, they inform every decision and nuance of our lives.
So what’s this got to do with today’s message, well everything! Just think about it, if you, me and everyone you know are slaves to our beliefs, then how can we challenge or step out of these potentially limiting ways of thinking. Let me introduce you to the restorative energy of the Tower card.
A few years ago my whole world came crashing down, as I lost both parents and a close friend within the space of a few years, to top things off I had a bleed behind my eye and lost part of my vision. Believe me, the scene upon this card became extremely poignant and real.
Now here’s the insight that I want to share with you today. Frankly, of all the incidents and events I’ve experienced, nothing has challenged my beliefs, shifted my paradigms more than these challenging times. None of us will escape pain and suffering, it’s part of the experience of life. But if we embrace our Tower moments, we permit the most profound shift in our awareness to take place. The lessons I’ve learned is to live life fully, to enjoy every moment, to let go of fear, to have fun. I can’t lie, these lessons are still unfolding, my Tower is still being rebuilt, but like myself, I’m inviting you to embrace the active energy of the Tower card today, let its movement free you, transform you and rebuild you.
