The Seven of Cups

The Seven of Cups

The active energy of Mars rules Scorpio, a potent blend of fire and water. Mars, with its uncompromising territorial stance, tamed by the adaptable characteristics of Scorpio’s element, water. Interestingly the Seven of Cups occupies the last decan of Scorpio, ruled by Venus as its secondary rulership. The result is a fascinating blend of active emotions presented in a somewhat conflicted and modified energy.

This card can bring many gifts and lessons, but today the card carries an important message. You may be feeling a little overwhelmed, worried or confused about your future. One of the core energies of this emotionally charged card is indecision, feelings that can trap us into a state of illusion and confusion. Scorpions are an intuitive and transformative sign, capable of seeing beyond the surface, able to read between the lines. They make great code breakers, a mind that can cut you down in an instant, but when the Goddess of love and beauty is added to the mix, we experience the powerful Yin energy in a more dynamic and dominant way.

Think of the archetype of a strong independent woman, firm but fair. Rest assured, The Goddess of love offers a helpful way out of this type of conflicted and muddled thinking. Indecision can lead to rumination and stagnation. Due to the sign’s modality, you may feel that you’re fixed and locked into a stalemate, damned if you do and damned if you don’t. But this is an illusory state and feeling, as the reality is more straightforward and the outcome more favourable.

The advice is clear, trust your intuition, make a choice to help you move forward. Commitment needn’t be final, the last word. For if you change your mind at a later date, then you’ve learned an important lesson, gained valuable insight and experience. Just as a side note, there is also a more ominous, addictive and menacing dimension to this card, but not if you embrace the guidance from the great Goddess. In many way’s choice is illusory, for if you follow your instincts, commit with a sincere heart, then the fruits will be plentiful, filled with pleasure and rewards.
