Page of Wands
I know many tarot readers have a somewhat love-hate relationship with the court cards; personally, these sixteen colourful characters hold such intriguing and distinct personalities that really excite me, no more so than the plucky, confident, energetic Page of Wands.
There is a common trait with many teenagers of a somewhat overly inflated sense of importance and knowledge. For while the youth have limited experience, they can be tricked into thinking they know it all, for they believe their experiences are utterly unique. You know how it goes, “you’re too old to understand, life’s so different now, you’re just out of touch,” as if we’ve never been their age before or learned from any mistakes.
Having said that, there is one quality about youth that is always enviable, their ability, some may say naivety to take risks without overthinking the consequences. A quality that in maturing years can quickly turn into being too cautious, all the trappings of living in a world overly exposed to exaggerated threats and fear.
This is exactly the inspiration behind today’s empowering message. For life is far too precious to hold back, to worry about every mistake, or dark alley we could turn into. To use a youthful phrase, “it’s time to chill out, take a chill pill”, take life less seriously and follow the playful energy of the Page of Wands.
No matter how challenging life can be, you’re never too busy, responsible or old to embrace your youthful side. Do something new today, take a risk, just get out there, relax and have fun. Take a leaf out of the Page of Wands book, don’t take yourself too seriously, give that idea, project or relationship a go, for you’ll never know.
Youth isn’t anchored to age, but a state of mind and way of being. Take the spark from the Page’s Wand and embrace the child within.
