Page of Cups
Within this image is a young soul, with a sense of risk and adventure about him. He is deep within thought, his mind is full of ideas, but his foot treads lightly with caution. He is sensitive, lead by the heart, feels deeply, and if he’s not careful, he can fall into familiar patterns of hesitation and doubt.
Like the harbour he observes, he feels safe in his surroundings, secure in his habits and ways, yet he imagines where the boat in the scene could take him. The images in his head stir deep emotions that excite, but challenge his timid ways.
He imagines the distant lands where the boat would travel, what he would learn, how he would feel. Like a black cat crawling tightly upon the ground, his dreams of adventure quickly returns to fear, the things that could go wrong, the people he would leave. So he slowly returns to the safety of his little harbour and leaves his dreams behind.
Unfortunately, for whatever reasons, many of us can become trapped, drop anchor within the safety of the familiar, replace life with fear. But things can be different, we can start to say ‘yes’ to invites, even when our hearts scream, no!
We can stretch out of our comfort zones, step into the unfamiliar, move into uncharted waters. For these are the next steps that the Page will have to take, to move out of old patterns of thinking, to embrace uncertainty and change.
No matter how ingrained or attached you may have become to your trusted ways, there is always another way. The Page of Cups is creative, full of the energies of youth, let these qualities guide you. Think like a child, behave like a child, see the wonders of life once more.
Find the courage to step aboard that exciting little boat, to find new adventures, experiences of life, to free your mind and spirit, to become the best you can become.
