The King of Swords
From an early age, we all develop personality traits. For numerous reasons, many of us can feel rather inferior and subservient to people who we perceive as in authority.
From an occultist perspective, this is an act of violence towards one’s personal power and autonomy. As to allow someone else to take control of the will, is like giving another the keys to our soul.
Think in terms of a bully at school or the workplace. While the individual may use certain methods to control, gain entry to our nature or psychology, take advantage of issues that we may feel sensitive or embarrassed about. Still, when we allow others access into our mind, we surrender our sovereignty in exchange for their control.
You’re invited to embrace the energies and qualities of the brilliantly sharp King of Swords, a leader who is in total command of his own mind and will. For he isn’t the type of person who can be easily influenced or persuaded to relinquish his power.
Many of us have been in those frustrating situations when we felt pressured into accepting an invitation, those awkward times when we felt obliged to say ‘yes’, when we really wanted to say ‘no’, but we’re too embarrassed to say so.
The King of Swords is encouraging you to make a renewed commitment, to honour your needs and wishes. The time when you permit others to negatively influence or control you must come to an end! For you’re being encouraged to take a firm stance. No more manipulation, being coerced into doing something you feel uncomfortable undertaking. Now is the time to stand up for yourself, to only do what you feel comfortable in doing, to quote Aleister Crowley, “Do what thou wilt“, take back complete control of your supremacy and will. Stand in the brave and courageous presence of the valiant King of Swords. For the only person permitted to hold the keys to your soul, is you, anyone else is executing an act of trespass.
