King of Pentacles
This version of the King of Pentacles draws heavily from the Thoth deck, and visually influenced by Pan, the god of the wild. He is deeply embedded within the land, so knows the rhythms and cycles of nature, familiar with the seasons, follows the cycles of the moon. He moves at night by navigating the stars. He is primordial and feeds upon the fruits that his land lavishly bestows upon him. There is no distinction between his nature and the earth, for he is land in animate.
Often when this earthly King appears within a reading, you may feel as if life is plodding along, the same old patterns and familiar ways. While steady and stable, we can perceive such times as a tad dull, or even boring, but we would be wrong, for the universe has its own clock, and this doesn’t necessarily sync with our ideas of time.
You’re receiving an important message to reconnect with nature, to detach from artificial ways. You may have a renewed interest in plants or flowers, complementary therapies like herbalism, spiritual healing or attracted to minerals of the earth, gems and crystals etc. This is nature’s way of reconnecting with you, a subtle, but important calling to embrace the earthly King of matter.
Everything in life perfectly follows the great cosmic order. While this King is earthy, stable and measured. These are the qualities that are needed at present. For you need to slow down, stop and listen to the birds, walk amongst the trees, feel the breeze across your face. Sit beside Pan and feel the energy of the earth beating and breathing beneath your feet, for the land is alive, nourishes and sustains you.
This is a crucial and important energy to understand and connect with. It is the seat of all magic, possibility and change. Slow down and feel the power within your physical nature and marvel at the mystery and gifts of the land. For you are of the earth, and the mass of the earth is within you.
