The Eight of Wands
There are times in life when we’re happily going about our business, when something quite unexpected comes out of the blue, and like a flash of lightning, we’re catapulted into an entirely new direction.
I recall the time when mum was diagnosed with cancer, there she was, going about life without a care in the world, when quite unexpectedly she noticed a small swelling, only days later I was taking mum to our local hospital being guided through her treatment plan.
Don’t make the connection of thinking this is a negative card or anything to do with my example, the point I’m wishing to convey, is the fast-acting energy of this fiery card. Crowley named this card “swiftness” and my goodness, if there was ever a perfect keyword, that was it.
While life at those times seemed to move at a ridiculously fast pace, her specialist impressing that speed was of the essence. We had to move quickly, so no time to waste, the luxury of sitting back and thinking about the situation was not advisable. We were given a chance, so we took it. The point of this story, while we had a choice, for mum could have said no, she chose speed over hesitation, life over death.
When an opportunity arrives, don’t fall into the trap of fear or procrastination, but take it with both hands. Now isn’t the time to dither or hold back, for you never know when a time like this will arrive again.
Perhaps you’re in a relationship that is moving quickly, health issues that are rapidly unfolding, under pressure to move swiftly with a business idea, the need to make a snap decision regarding a house move, etc.
The advice of today’s card is simple, movement is imminent, you can either be passive in these decisions, let fate take its course, or become actively involved with the opportunity and work collaboratively with this swift energy to get the most effective outcome and results.
