The Traveller Card
Today’s card offers a message of hope and guidance. For history is littered with struggle, and today we face another in the form of a virus.
Sadly, our current situation is challenging the very way we interact with one another. Creating barriers that are causing us to approach strangers with suspicion and anger.
Today’s card is adorned with the keyword “Traveller”, an activity that many of us are unable or unwilling to embrace at present. But there is a way out of this conundrum, let me introduce you to the incredibly powerful spiritual technique known as visualisation, the heart of today’s message and guidance.
I’ve always been a big advocate of meditation, and one such technique explores the power of the imagination to enhance the wellbeing of the individual, through a simple magical practice known as sensory visualisation.
You will need to find a quiet place to settle down and relax, in the confidence you won’t be interrupted or disturbed. The idea is to calm the body and still the mind as you progressively bring your awareness closer and closer to the movement and sensation of the breath. An exercise specifically developed to offer a focal point to bring your awareness and concentration.
When you feel sufficiently settled, you will need to bring to mind a place where you have visited in the past. Somewhere where you feel comfortable and safe, that special location that fills your heart with peace and joy.
Now fill that visualisation with as much sensory information as possible. Taking note of the sounds, smells, textures, colours, and tastes. Building an internal experience as vivid and real as possible. With practice, over time you will begin to construct an imaginary location that will become indistinguishable, possibly more vivid, than the actual experience of your visit.
In times of stress, you can recall this simple but powerful technique and in doing so you will free your mind to travel in the most wonderful and exotic locations.
